just like starting over

Welcome to this blog. My name is Jesper Bood, and I used to write a blog called Syn City, the nick name we at Ristretto in Perth, WA, gave the city with all the shiny beautiful espresso machines from Synesso. But I'm not based in Perth anymore. Not for the nearest future anyway. And I'd like to think that I have developed, at least slightly, as a coffee person since starting that blog over a year ago. So it didn't feel that fresh anymore, and I felt that everything I had once said in that context, had already been said (and slightly regurgitated even). Hence this starting over.

The name Royal Blood, Royal Looks comes from a spam letter I recieved from a Russian woman on Skype. She assured me she had both royal blood and royal looks. Since I am partly russian (the crazy part), the expression was too good to let go of.

This blog is about my personal journey into the core of coffee (I have yet only sniffed on the peel, and began scratching on it), and this is my invitation for you to follow me. I do not intend to review coffee, however if I visit your café and have nothing nice to write about you, I won't write it at all. The same goes with your coffee in general. I've been whining a lot in my past, and I intend to remain true to a positive approach both in life and on this blog.

Again, this is my personal journey. Some of these things are completely new to me, yet they might be very old news to you. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, or say that I come with truths. Rather see it as a way to record for myself, where in my journey am I. And if you have directions for me to move on from there, please share that with me in the comment section!

The Syn City blog wanted very much to keep updated what was going on in the world of coffee, as well as what was going on with me. This blog will mostly record what has already been done, so the posts will be less frequent, yet hopefully more worked through.

I hope you will enjoy to read as much as I will enjoy to write!
